One of Texas’ premier entertainment complexes – Moody Gardens on Galveston Island – will soon become the “coolest holiday destination in the Southwest” with its debut of ICE LAND: Ice Sculptures with SpongeBob SquarePants, beginning November 15, 2014.
Recognized as the only venue to feature a holiday ice exhibition on the Gulf Coast, this vast and incredible display of magnificent ice creations will be nothing short of amazing! Created by a skilled team of 20 professional ice carvers from Harbin, China, 900 tons of ice will be transformed into majestic marvels ranging from holiday-themed sculptures to underwater characters from SpongeBob SquarePants. Visitors will be greeted with a blast of 9-degree temperatures when they enter the insulated tent structure, located on a 242-acre entertainment complex featuring several other entertainment and accommodation venues. Visitors to ICE LAND will be given a courtesy parka to wear while viewing the ice exhibits.
Be sure you catch the viewing of over one million lights at Moody Gardens’ 13th annual Festival of Lights exhibit, which offers holiday music and merriment throughout the complex – including the area’s only outdoor skating rink and exciting Arctic Ice Slide. There’s no better time to experience Galveston Island than during the holidays!
