Welcome to Baden-Baden in the foothills of the Black Forest in southern Germany.

June – August 2023

Dear Travel Partners,

Summer is here – and what a summer it is! Baden‑Baden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Europe’s leading Spa and Cultural Resort. If you or your clients are planning a European river cruise, a vacation or a business trip to Europe, remember to add Baden‑Baden for a pre- or post-visit.

Baden‑Baden has always been known for its thermal springs, cultural sophistication and diversity. Our rich history blends seamlessly with a highly contemporary lifestyle, which can only be described as cutting edge.

Music lovers will appreciate the continuous program at the Festival Hall, Europe’s second largest concert and opera hall. Leading world-class artists will be our guests again this year, starting with La Capitale d’Été with the New York Metropolitan Opera and its Chief Conductor, Yannick Nézet‑Séguin. There are also open-air concerts in front of the Kurhaus, Philharmonic Castle Concerts, and additional musical events.

Our famous Summer Nights in front of the Kurhaus with musical and culinary specialties are always a highlight. The International Horse Races, a Vintage Car Meeting or a hot‑air balloon ride over the Rhine Valley are lifetime experiences.

Do you want to stay more active? There are over 200 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails, and several champion golf courses in and around Baden-Baden. A funicular railway takes you to Mt. Merkur to enjoy a spectacular view of our town and more hiking trails. This is also the starting point for paragliding; if you are in the mood, you may try it yourself in tandem with an instructor.

The area in and around Baden‑Baden is one of Germany’s top wine producing areas. Our bistros and restaurants – two of them with Michelin Stars – are right in our town, the ideal place for any food and wine connoisseur.

What would be a visit to Baden‑Baden without taking a peek in one of Europe’s most beautiful casinos, as Marlene Dietrich called it?

My team and I are looking forward to welcoming you and your clients to our small cosmopolitan town where the world meets at the foothills of the Black Forest.
